Colorado Gives Day is the biggest giving event in the state, and it’s an opportunity for you to join other Coloradans who are coming together to make a meaningful impact. This year, we need your support more than ever to continue building a healthier planet and community.
Early Giving Starts November 1st
From November 1 through December 9, every donation you make is boosted by a $1M+ Incentive Fund, thanks to Colorado Gives Foundation and FirstBank. The more we raise, the bigger our share. Plus, if you set up a new monthly recurring donation, Colorado Gives Foundation will match your first monthly gift up to $100 (and up to $250K total across all organizations)! It’s an exciting way for you to double the impact of your continued support.
How to Get Started:
Visit our donation page coloradogives.org/organization/C4leadville
Click ‘Donate’ and choose to do a one-time donation or select the option for a monthly donation.
If you select monthly, your donation will be matched automatically.
Last year, we raised $32,000 Let’s make this year even bigger—to help us raise $50,000!
With gratitude,
The C4 Team

Leadville Vision 2076
What would Colorado look like in 2076 if we achieved everything we're working toward today? LCBAG is partnering with Reimagine Colorado and the Colorado Fiscal Institute to co-host Vision 2076, a statewide community visioning event on November 6th at 6pm.
This is an interactive event where community members will imagine what Colorado could look like in the year 2076. We recognize the massive amount of work that you've put into our local comprehensive planning process and the facilitators will tie this conversation to the ongoing One Community Project. While that project continues to be important, we don't want Lake County to be left out of this statewide conversation!
Why participate? Your input will contribute to Vision 2076, a statewide initiative gathering voices from communities across Colorado. We'll publish a public document identifying our shared values as Coloradans and creating a roadmap for the future we want to build together.
You'll participate in:
Creative activities with art supplies and hands-on projects
Small group conversations with neighbors from across the Central Mountains
Facilitated visioning exercises about Colorado's future
Delicious food and refreshments
Who should come? Anyone who cares about Colorado's future! No artistic experience or special knowledge required—just bring your curiosity and imagination.

Lake County Library Banned Books Week Author Talk: Jason Reynolds
Lake County Public Library hosts their 4th annual Banned Books Week Author Talk on October 9th on Freight. Doors open at 5:30.
The incredible author Jason Reynolds will be speakingabout his work, literary freedom, and the rise of censorship for books. There will be a reading of his work, an interview, a Q&A with the audience, and free dinner. Spanish interpretation will be provided.
To learn more about Jason, check out this 2 minute YouTube video of him describing what he does.
Jason Reynolds
Jason Reynolds is a #1 New York Times bestselling author of many award-winning books, including Look Both Ways: A Tale Told in Ten Blocks, All American Boys (with Brendan Kiely), Long Way Down, Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You (with Ibram X. Kendi), Stuntboy, in the Meantime (illustrated by Raúl the Third), and Ain’t Burned All the Bright (with artwork by Jason Griffin). The recipient of a Newbery Honor, a Printz Honor, an NAACP Image Award, and multiple Coretta Scott King honors, Reynolds is also the 2020-2022 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. He has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Late Night with Seth Meyers, CBS Sunday Morning, Good Morning America, and various media outlets. He is on faculty at Lesley University, for the Writing for Young People MFA Program and lives in Washington, DC.
Banned Books Week was started in 1982 by the American Library Association as a way to bring attention to censorship. During this week, which usually occurs the last week of September or the first week of October, events take place around the country highlighting intellectual freedom and the consequences that occur when censorship takes place. Banned Books Week brings together libraries, publishers, authors, and schools to celebrate the freedom to read.
At Lake County Public Library, we celebrate by inviting nationally and internationally known authors who have experienced their works being banned. This event has grown rapidly since our inaugural event with Nic Stone in 2022 and we are committed to continuing this event.

Climate Town Live! A Very Colorado Town Hall
Wednesday, October 1 | 7 – 8:15 PM | Silverthorne Pavilion
Doors open at 6:30
Can climate change be…funny? Let’s find out! Join HC3 for an evening with comedian Rollie Williams.
Rollie is the creator and host of Climate Town, a YouTube series about the climate crisis, and co-creator of The Climate Denier’s Playbook. A Golden, Colorado native turned Brooklyn-based comedian, he also happens to hold a master’s degree in Climate Science & Policy from Columbia University.
While the climate crisis doesn’t exactly scream “comedy show,” for one night, Rollie will explore the lighter side of the defining challenge of our century. Using multimedia, sharp wit, and a healthy dose of research, he’ll unpack everything from oil propaganda to corporate misfeasance to our complex energy system. Witness the comedy phenomenon that critics are already calling, “not as depressing as I thought it would be!”
This event is FREE, but tickets are required. A special thanks to the Town of Silverthorne for their generous support in hosting this event.
