High School Internships and Mentorships
-
Summer Internships
Our Growing Stewards program offers paid summer internships at Cloud City Farm, empowering high schoolers to explore green career paths and develop concrete, marketable skills in agriculture, business, education, and science.
Interns have the opportunity to visit other farms in the region, undertake a self-directed project on the farm, help run the Thursday farm market, and lead Rockies Rock camp activities.
-
Mentorship Program
C4 supports the Lake County School District’s internship credit requirement by mentoring students interested in careers in environmental fields.
C4 has mentored youth with projects such as reducing local use of single-use plastic bags and using solar power to make school buildings more energy efficient.
Other Education Partnerships
-
High Mountain Institute
We partner with the HMI to bring science classes to the farm each semester for a visit centered around climate change. Our education staff shares how our work at C4 builds climate resilience in Lake County.
-
Outward Bound
Each summer C4 hosts students participating in Outward Bound for the service learning component of their course. Students get a tour of the farm and help with farm tasks like emptying compost, mulching, and moving wood chips.
-
And More!
We welcome visits from any organization that is interested in learning about our farm. This past summer we hosted groups from Guidestone Farms, Walking Mountains Science Center, and Runners for Public Lands.
